VISION | PREACHING | TEACHING
Rob Decker has been the Lead Pastor of Triad Baptist Church for over 20 years.
Rob is a gifted communicator and leader--he is a visionary, convicted about speaking the truth of the Gospel as plainly as possible. His passion for helping people meet Jesus and his vision to share Triad Baptist with the community is attributed to his calling and determination to serve God in every aspect of his life. He believes in the "local church" as the local body of believers and the "true church" as the body of Christ.
Born in 1961, I was raised in a Christian home in Pennsylvania. I received Jesus at the age of 13. At the age of 18, I was on my way to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University when my dad asked me to first consider going to a Bible college a year. I told him that I would if the Bible college had an aviation program. He found Piedmont Bible College (Now Piedmont International University). During that training, God got ahold of my heart through chapel messages and through professors in the classroom, and I surrendered to full-time Christian service. I completed a Bachelor of Theology with an aviation minor, but I’m most grateful for meeting the love of my life at the school, Bettina, whom I married in 1984 after my schooling.
Bettina and I have four children and five grandsons. We had our first child, Alison, in May, 1985. Bettina was committed to rearing children who desire to love God and to partnering with me in my ministry; she would say that her greatest joy is the privilege of being called "mom" by Alison, Zach, Nick and Austin and being a part of God's plan to help bring each of them to a saving faith in Jesus. We have loved watching them grow in the knowledge of Christ and seek ways to serve Him.
